   A baby girl is tortured to death - that is horrible…and yet, day after day, babies are tortured to death in their mother’s womb. THAT IS REALITY!

   Wake up America and realize that abortion kills a human being - plan and simple.

   ISU students - controversy is important, but no life should be tortured at the very youngest age - and that is what abortion does.

   The can of worms is opened - it has been opened since the beginning of life - killing is wrong - has always been wrong and will continue to be wrong. Abortion is not controversial - it is killing of the smallest among us.

   Since 1973, 50 MILLION American citizens have been murdered by “legal” abortion.

   How would you like to be born into that situation? Your mom is in prison for life or on death row for killing your sister, you were born in a hospital ward.

   That wikipedia article said there are about as many abortions where it is legal as where it is illegal. Making it illegal does nothing but make it unsafe. Get real with this problem, it is about nutcases trying to control other people’s lives, it is their own power trip.

   As I was invited here, I will make a couple comments.

   The wikipedia account is hardly the definitive source on abortion, user written as it is.

   One proof of that is this: where it says “PAS is listed in neither the DSM-IV-TR nor the ICD-10.”

   What it neglects to say, however, due to the lack of knowledge of the author of the piece, is that while PAS is not accepted as an actual diagnosis, in The American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM III-R, published in 1987), abortion was in fact listed as a life event which can produce Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). I ordered a copy of that old version, to see if I could find it, and it is indeed in that edition, which was valid for a period of 8 years. The succeeding edition, DSM-IV, published in 1994, no longer included abortion as one of the psychosocial stressors that can contribute to not only PTSD.

   Its removal was done without any research or other evidence to warrant its removal. That kind of research/evidence is required to take anything out and put anything in to the DSM.

   I found one researcher at the time who had as good an answer as any as to why this occurred.

   “Why did the APA consider abortion to be a psychological stressor in 1987 but not in 1994? This change was certainly not due to the findings of new medical studies on PAS, because no conclusive research was done during this period.

   “The only logical explanation is that the APA could not continue to endorse something that is generally admitted to cause significant psychological damage. Therefore, it took the easy way out. The APA simply removed all evidence of psychological trauma caused by abortion from its DSM-IV.”

   The APA has since said it sees abortion as a civil right. Meaning, it won’t touch it with a 10 foot pole and if we women want to harm ourselves by having abortions, then it’s our civil right to do so. This is somewhat akin to the historical Pontius Pilate’s washing his hands of another’s death.

   I’ve been told and have researched that the process by which the APA adds a diagnosis to the body of disorders is considerably intense and time-consuming, and when it is politicized, no one wants to touch it at the APA. So I don’t count on “abortion as psychosocial stressor” being added back anytime soon.

   DSM-II was published in 1968. DSM-III in 1980, and DSM-III-R in 1987. I don’t know if abortion was included in the DSM-II or III versions. Assuming it was not, I find it fascinating that it took the APA only about 13 years after abortion was legalized nationally to recognize abortion as one of those psychosocial stressors causing serious distress and to include it in the 1987 manual. Were they all just blithering idiots for the 9 years (at least one of research prior) when they thought it serious enough to include in the DSM? I think not.

   I’m not saying, nor does the APA’s 1987 DSM version say that PTSD = PAS (Post Abortion Syndrome), or that PAS is a clinical diagnosis.

   But this is just one of a whole range of facts that require much research on your (anyone’s) part before really being certain of what you speak.

   Note also: I personally added all of the above to wikipedia’s entry for PAS (post-abortion syndrome) itself, and yet after I did, my addition was erased and replaced with the incomplete facts that you see in both the entries now. And also note that the PAS entry posts a message that “The neutrality of this article is disputed.” Both entries are rather peppered with biased and incomplete information.

   Another example is wikipedia’s omission of the over 20 published studies and events since Surgeon General Koop’s 1989 “report” that found evidence of post-abortion trauma to women. We covered those here, http://afterabortion.blogspot.com/2005/06/earlier-koop-post-got-me-thinking.html , over two years ago.

   I spent about 3 years researching and writing about all these issues and facts on our blog. I couldn’t do them justice to repeat them all here. But all the posts are still here, and still searchable I believe, for anyone to read.

   A good start for those who really want to know the scientific truth is in one series we did that showed how Planned Parenthood, to this day on its website, has manipulated and twisted facts about abortion’s effects on women and subsequent pregancies. We link to every single published, scientific, objective study (and there are many) which show that Planned Parenthood is lying to us women about how good abortion is for us.

   On another note, a fetus aborted feels exruciating pain. Dr. Jean Wright, a pediatrics and anesthesiology specialist, testified under oath to a state Senate committe in Virginia in 2004 that a fetus has pain receptors at 6-7 weeks and at 20 weeks “can feel pain from head to toe” and “likely feels pain more intensely than a newborn baby.” This was reported on the ABC news in Virginia, WSET, although that online version is no longer available.    It is horrible when a child is tortured and/or killed. Allowing that child to die as horrific a death (for example, read what happens during saline abortions, which were done very often years ago) when it isn’t born yet only saves us the agony of imagining or worse, hearing, it scream.

   I could give you the links to the studies on how various forms of birth control actually have and continue to harm women severely (they’re all on our blog), and also have contributed to skyrocketing promiscuity and correlating explosions in STDs especially drug-resistant ones (also on the blog), but I wonder if you have done any homework on your own yet first. It certainly seems that you haven’t.

   Don’t buy everything the Planned Parenthood types tell you. They have been “sex-educating” children as young as 9 (you advocate 4th grade, exactly as Planned Parenthood does) about how to have phone sex as well as giving them “nine reasons to have abortions.”

   This is being done by an organization which makes about 93.5% of their money from providing abortions and dispensing 633,756 Morning After Pills a year.

   You don’t see anything incongruous, wrong or self-serving about that?

   Will you still feel the same way if you ever have an 8-year-old daughter someday/ Will you feel that “removing all these barriers to abortions” and “giving [your daughter] that kind of promiscuity-lesson from the fourth grade” was a great idea, then? If so, I suggest you read deeply into their TeenWire website and realize they don’t prevent any age children from registering there. Will you still think it’s all good when she goes to a Planned Parenthood when she turns 10 because she got pregnant, and doesn’t tell you? Do you like knowing that they’ll give her an abortion and won’t be required by law to even contact you, her parent? They won’t be allowed to tell you a thing. Women do die from legal abortions even today. I have a friend who has documented online thousands of such women’s deaths, so that someone will remember them besides their families.

   Read for yourself the news that PP has gotten $3.9 BILLION dollars in taxpayer dollars from the federal government in the last 2 decades, while it lies and covers up, heck, it even boasts, when it neglects to report statutory rapists when they know of them.

   How much pain do you think these children feel who are murdered by their parents? Besides physical pain, you must admit children experience severe emotional and psychological pain associated with their parents beating them to death, which fetuses do not.

   Some people are just too plain angry or stupid to have kids and care for kids. I do not support mandatory sterilizations, but I support educating people more about sex and reproduction and family planning.

   Fighting abortion is fighting the symptoms of a much deeper issue. Why not fight the real disease of lack of education and access to birth control? Why fight the symptoms?

    Ok, you have an issue with anonymous posting, and I was meaning to write an article about that topic soon. It is something I have experienced running another site, and anonymous comments were criticized at first but have proven over two years to be the least of problems.

    I could care less if you take me seriously or not. I’m just a dumb jerk trying to figure things out, and so I (and others) write some things I/we observe and think about. Please agree or disagree or point out facts or biases, but don’t avoid the issue because a comment was made anonymously. Why not focus on the comment, not on who makes the comment?

    I could not prove to you that these comments come from different people without revealing their IP addresses and email addresses, and I am not willing to do that. All I can point out is that I am a full-time student, full-time family man, and I run five websites. I barely have enough time to write articles and post my own comments and build/maintain these sites without playing games around pretending to be other people. My goal is to encourage discussions, not fake them. If that is not enough to convince you, then I’m sorry and I hope you find other sites out there that appeal to you.

    What you have done is divert from this topic into a tangent with your “reality check”. What do you think about this issue since you are signing your name to your comments?

    Deanofgeeks, I believe that children who are murdered by their parents feel the worst kind of pain, you are right, because it includes severe emotional and psychological pain. My point is and has never been to diminish either’s pain, but you did say “I would rather see a fetus aborted than a young child harmed in these worst ways.” That seems the thought of one who didn’t understand how bad it is in those cases as well.

    While I personally feel such anger and anguish every time I hear or read of a child abused and/or killed by anyone, what you’re saying is really no better. The option to kill them before they’re born is all that allows one to think this, but it doesn’t make it right, or good for the child.

    This is one of the arguments that Planned Parenthood and their ilk have firmly implanted in the consciousness of too many people of all ages, not just young adults. “Save the child from the future possible abuse.” Mercy killing is what this is and it is still killing and it’s still wrong.

    “Some people are just too plain angry or stupid to have kids and care for kids.” I agree, and I also agree that there will always be those who have sex irresponsibly and end up pregnant. After all, I was one of them.

    You don’t seem to know (because abortion advocates won’t tell you) that there are 2+ million American couples wanting to adopt children each year.     If PP spent even half the money it gets from the government on helping people carry to term and allow those 1.3 million children get adopted instead of adopted, it still might not stem the need for abortion, but it does sound like something you say you’d be in favor of.

    Three years ago, we exposed how Planned Parenthood has had to backpedal from its extensive sex education program because they’ve encouraged a whole generation of young women, your generation and the one before yours, to become uber promiscuous. PP has had to disown its own sexed agenda somewhat as they’ve directly helped fuel promiscuity which has led to massive increases in STDs:

    Keep in mind: in 1967 (when there was virtually no sex education), 1 out of 32 sexually active people contacted sexually transmitted diseases. In 1983, 1 out of 18 sexually active people contacted STDs. In 1996, 1 out of 4 sexually active people contacted STDs. It isn’t a coincidence that so-called “safe-sex” education ballooned in the same time period.

    In December 2003, at a public health conference in Washington DC, doctors cited evidence of an epidemic of STDs among the nation’s teenagers, and cited “Safe-sex” programs and condom-distribution as contributing factors to the problem of STD explosion. Within the U.S. each year, chlamydia cases increase by 4 million, pelvic inflammatory disease by 1.2 million, gonorrhea by 2 million, genital herpes by 1 million and human papilloma virus (HPV) by 5.5 million. All because of increased sexual activity, simultaneous to the safesex education you advocate.

    The American Social Health Association reported that 3.8 million of these and other STDs are contracted by U.S. teens: almost 45% of all teens and young adults are infected with at least one STD by their mid-twenties.

    Planned Parenthood says, “Safer-sex practice allows couples to reduce their sexual health risks. Safer sex is anything we do to lower our risk of sexually transmitted infection.” But groups like Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, the American Cancer Society, and the National Institutes of Health all have found that the claim that condoms help prevent STDs isn’t supported by the data. If condoms were effective against STDs, the increase in condom usage would correlate to a decrease in STDs overall, but the reverse happens.

    Other recent studies of sexually active teens also show increased percentages of depression, suicide, and various emotional problems such as loss of self-respect, esteem, and trust. Again, we are not reading this in the major press, but it’s out there. Sometimes stuff like this even gets testified on before Congress, and it still doesn’t get reported!

    And a December 2003 Zogby International poll showed that 96% of parents would prefer their children be taught abstinence in sexual education programs.

    Deanofgeeks, I think it’s admirable that you are a full-time student, full-time family man, and run five websites. But really, unless you make your living supporting your family with those 5 websites, I strongly urge you to drop them while you try to get a much better handle on the truths and the scientific published research studies that are out there on these volatile issues for years, before trying to start another discussion blog about them. There are literally thousands of other well-researched and well-documented sites that have done what you’re trying to do here, and with a lot more credibility. Our blogs are just a couple of them.

    After all, you yourself (if this is your blog and you’re the blogmaster) post this quote below:

    “College Wisdom: The person who can read and does not is no better off than one who cannot read at all.”

    There are boatloads for you to read before being so certain you know enough to honestly hold the opinion you posted in this post. It is way too much the opinion of one who takes only what the prochoice side has given him or her and swallows it whole without question.

    If you do not read all that you can read on all this, that I’ve given you just a handful of links and sources, you really are no better off than one who cannot read at all.

    It is a coincidence, because safe-sex education has helped stem an even larger tide of pregnancy and STDs.

    What do you have to say about our society and media during that same time frame? You think safe sex education has influenced young people to have sex more than the rampant sexual messages they get barraged with from media? You really think kids are more influenced to have sex from condom discussions than from seeing pornography popups or spam email on their computer?

    You don’t seem to know … that there are 2+ million American couples wanting to adopt children each year.

    I do know about and agree the adoption shortage is heartbreaking, so many kids could be put into great homes through adoption.

    Uber-conservatives love to trot this out, and fail to mention THIS YEAR’S 2007 Zogby International poll showing “…89 percent of parents support sex ed that is a mix of abstinence and a comprehensive sex education that discusses contraceptives and ways of protecting students from sexually transmitted diseases, or just comprehensive sex education. That number jumps to 96 percent when talking about older students.

    Also I highly recommend you read “The Tipping Point” to learn about how STD outbreaks really happen. It is due to many other circumstances, such as clinics being closed.

    This statement communicates to me that despite having no clue about me or my life, you see fit to judge me and tell me what to do. I’m going to have to ask you kindly to not concern yourself with my path, but focus on the topic.

    Again, you do not know my life. I’ve writen articles on hundreds of subjects, exploring what I may or may not know, and encouraging discussions on those topics so I and others may gain understanding.

    Do you think maybe there is infinitely more information out there than any human can digest in a lifetime? Do you think that maybe my plate is full with reading and learning the topics I am most interested in?

    I can respect you discussing your opinion on the subject and I am willing to look at the information you present. I have had my mind changed on several subjects I wrote about, after engaging in thought-provoking discussion with strangers. However to suggest I need to turn my life around because you disagree with me is very offensive. To say I am not better off than an illiterate person because I am not as versed in your favorite subject is very offensive.     I wouldn’t worry about it Mr. D.O.Geeks , you are hearing the dying sqwaks from the endangered species of bible-thumping Republicans. They scream bloody murder for the government to require parking permits in their lives but have no problem shoving their nose into your life and telling you what to do. They do not care if their Republican politicians are corrupt sex-mongerers who violate every conservative principle so long as they claim they will fight abortion.

    I think abortion is barbaric, but prohibitions never work. You will never hear the bible-thumpers admit this historical fact. Make abortion illegal or enforce restrictions and we just send the activity underground where it is not as safe and girls do not get any alternative options explained to them. We should make abortions available at Wal-Mart.

    Ron Paul has said he opposes abortion, but he will leave it up to states rights to decide for themselves. A true conservative if I ever saw one. Google Ron Paul.

    Ron Paul says he opposes abortion but will let individual states decide on whether they want to continue the massacre (whoops, I meant, freedom of “choice”) of innocent human life.

    IF one personally opposes abortion but does not want anyone else to have to “feel” the same way, then that person thinks they are off the hook for the consequence of abortion, which is a dead baby.

    Nothing could be further from the truth - indeed, in order for evil to succeed, good men must say nothing…(paraphrasing)

    To the owner of this blog - you have been raised, I am assuming you were born after 1973 - with the planned parenthood mentality. It is an incidious mentality - born out of Margaret Sanger’s idea that some people should never have been (or be) born due to their parent’s poverty or skin color. Combined with her mentality is the other mentality that says ‘if it feels good - do it’.

    “Feeling good - and doing it” have consequences - many times, an unplanned (by the parents) pregnancy. Planned parenthood then assists the parents (and there is always a father involved in abortion) by taking care of the consequence.
    Unfortunately, the ‘consequence’ in this case, is a human life which planned parenthood is more than willing to snuff out.

    Let’s talk about sex education in the schools. For whatever reason/s - there are many parents who are not comfortable in talking about one of the most wonderful parts of human life. So - they leave the ‘talk’ up to total strangers, who they have been told, are the experts.

    Teaching a fourth grader that sex is good - just don’t do it without protection (whatEVER that might be), without any moral compass is plain and simply irresponsible.

    Planned parenthood makes it money off of abortions. Yes, of course, they give out low cost and sometimes free birth control (and why we have to control birth is another subject), and they know, planned parenthood “experts” know that this birth control will fail time and time again, especially in teenagers.

    So - what does the teen do? They won’t go to their parents, after all, their parents aborgated their responsiblity to planned parenthood in the sex education department. The teen goes to the people they learned about sex from - the same place where they got their birth control that failed. And, the “experts” say “whoops, since the first line of defense failed, (what a surprise!), we’ll go for the second and final defense. We will be happy to sell you an abortion - cash on the line or credit cards, no checks, please for we do not trust you.”

    Yes, planned parenthood makes billions of dollars off of tax paying people like you and me and those who are caught up in their mentality because they are now in almost all the schools across the nation, preaching their line of ’safe sex’.

    Safe sex - why not? It sounds good - and I have news for you - sex has always been safe. But, planned parenthood has twisted this and tells the public that only THEY know how to make sex safe.

    The bottom line - abortion kills at least one human being each and every time. But - hush, planned parenthood does not want you to know that.

    If anyone is in agreement with ‘choice’ they need to ask themselves, what is that “CHOICE”? That choice, when it comes to “women’s free reproductive rights” is the choice to determine whether or not a human being will be permitted to live or not.

    To make a woman have to decide on her own flesh and blood’s life - whether it will live or die - is asking a lot. Of course, planned parenthood, is waiting in the wings to help her with that decision - all the while, holding out their hand, not for sympathy and compassion, but for the dollars that the woman will give them for taking the life of her own child.

    I recommend a book - it is called Lime 5, by Mark Crutcher - it will open your eyes to this incidious, ugly industry of abortion.

    For over 30 years abortion has been legal at all stages of birth, through nine months (read Doe-v-Bolton), though most are done in the first trimester. There are many programs to pay for abortions - there is no legal or financial reason for a woman not to have one if she does not want the child. And so every child born is, in some sense, “wanted.”

    And yet child abuse rates continue to grow. Though it was expected they would drop with legalized abortion, the opposite is true. Why?

    I think that legal abortion contributes to child abuse.

    The attitude that children are only to come into the world WHEN and HOW we want them, carries an undertone that says they should then BE what we want them (to be). When they are not, they often get abused. (I realize there are many causes of abuse - I don’t mean to be simplistic, but I want to show how an attitude supportive of abortion could contribute to abuse as well).

    In other words, while the writer of this article has good intentions, the results of 30 years of legal abortion point to a different conclusion.

    DoG, you challenged me to “focus on this topic,” (as if I wasn’t). Well, grab yourself a cup of coffee, maybe even a sandwich, because you’ve asked for a lot and you have raised more than one topic. It’ll take a few segments as I suspect there’s a length limit to each comment.

    YOU told us about yourself, who you are and what you’re doing. You gave me “the clue” that you’re a very busy person. I never said/implied that you “need to turn [your] life around because [I] disagree with you. Your own website quotes that if one doesn’t read, one if not better off than an illiterate person, and you didn’t read through all the links and sources I suggested you read. I don’t demand that someone be “as versed in [my] favorite subject” and I never told you you “do not have the right to exercise my freedom of speech.”

    I said, “I strongly urge you to drop them while you try to get a much better handle on the truths and the scientific published research studies” I said “There are boatloads for you to read before being so certain you know enough to honestly hold the opinion you posted in this post.” I said “If you do not read all that you can read on all this, that I’ve given you just a handful of links and sources, you really are no better off than one who cannot read at all.”

    Please do not put words in my mouth or intentions that I did not say or imply. You did start this post by saying, “I realize I’m opening one of the biggest can of worms in America.” Then when I informand show you how that can is actually deeper and fuller than you seem to know it really is, you chew me out?

    Take a step back, please. Think about what I wrote. Not what you believe I meant.

    I even complimented you on juggling all that you juggle! If it’s judging that I said you don’t have much time to do the research on the things about which you put forth opinions, then you seem rather thin-skinned. I only advised you to get educated on the things about which you are clearly only partially informed. You take offense to that advice? It isn’t “telling you what to do,” it is focusing exactly on the topic you posted about and on the further topics you commented on. It’s telling you that those opinions you’re putting forth for all the world to read are based on incomplete and often biased information. That is a shock to hear, I’m sure, but it won’t stop me from informing you (or any who are similarly misinformed) of that. You don’t really need to cite your objective sources; I know them because I’ve read BOTH sides of the research. The information I provide contained WITHIN those links is objective, scientific, published studies in respected science journals. You can read them yourself and I hope you will.

    If you have “writen [SIC] articles on hundreds of subjects, exploring what I may or may not know,” then how do you still not know about the real deal with birth control, sex education, abortion and pregnancy rates, skyrocketing STD problems and the rest? (cont)

    1) Studies in Finland and Scotland showed abortion rates stayed the same despite increased “over-the-counter” Morning After Pill (MAP or “Emergency contraception”) use (by girls aged 15 or more) of 25% in one year and 300% over eight years, respectively. And even worse, in Finland, 23% more girls under 15 had abortions that year. The Scottish Council on Human Bio-ethics’ “Briefing Paper on the Morning-After-Pill,” Jan. 2002, found that, despite a 300% increase in the use of MAPs in Glasgow from 1992-1999, the abortion rate stayed the same.

    4) In Washington state, http://www.guttmacher.org/pubs/journals/3317201.html , more easily-accessible birth control resulted in an abortion rate drop of 3%, which wasn’t as high as the 5% national drop during the same period. Note also: the WA Dept. of Health http://www.doh.wa.gov/Notify/nc/incidence/chlamydia.pdf shows that, compared to 1987, the period BEFORE pharmacists were allowed to dispense Emergency Contraception without a prescription (Feb.’98 -June ’99), the number of chlamydia cases as well as the rate of cases per 100,000 population jumped astronomically in that one year (in both cases by some 246%). Chlamydia causes painful PID in women, and in men, epididymis. Left untreated, these can cause infertility and become life-threatening.

    5) In Planned Parenthood’s own 2004 annual report, the amount of HIV Testing for women they performed went UP 12.1%; for men, UP 6.8%. Reversible Contraception sold to women (birth control, shots, patch, ring, implants, IUD, etc.) went UP 2.2% and to men, UP 9.1% (condoms, etc.). Morning After Pill Kits went UP 22.2%. Yet “STI Procedures, Women and Men”, meaning treatment for sexually transmitted diseases, almost DOUBLED, going UP 95.4%. From about 1.2 million people treated to 2.4 million in one year. Shouldn’t that one have gone DOWN, by maybe something in the range of 2.2% and 9.1%, if reversible contraception is so good at preventing STDs?     and a network of youth health clinics, teenage abortion rates and chlamydial infections are

    7) In 2002-04, UK studies in the British Medical Journal and at Nottingham University Business School showed that, after dispensing free ECs to females from 1998 to 2002,
    a) “between 1998 and 2004 rates of diagnoses of infectious syphilis (primary and secondary) in males increased by 1520%”,
    b) syphillis in females increased from 1999 to 2000 by 36% and 31% from ‘98 to ‘99, and
    c) “gonorrhoea … rose by 102%, from 10,204 to 20,663, between 1995 and 2000, with the steepest increase (29%) between 1999 and 2000. The rises have been widespread and have been highest among older teenagers (16-19 years), at 178% for male[s] and 133% for female patients.” The uplift from 1998 to 1999 was 23%. Prior to 1998? 1996-98 were level at 13,000 cases and 1993-1995 remained 10,000 cases.

    One of the FDA quotes from the link in #7 above: ‘chlamydia and gonorrhea rates have risen nearly 20 percent in [the U.S.] in the last four years, concomitant to the high profile advertising of the morning after pill which, intended or not, promote the notion that taking Plan B will make up for the lack of sexual responsibility.”

    9) As of March 2004, drug-resistant [i.e., easily fatal] gonorrhea had broken out in Boston worse than it did the four prior years in Seattle, Chicago, Dallas, Philadelphia and Las Vegas. By April 2007, “the media reported the CDC now saying that gonorrhea is a drug-resistant “Superbug.” All this while we’ve had so much more “safe sex ed.”

    2. 2 harms: Women taking birth control pills are 14 times more likely to develop blood clots from airplane travel, and those using birth control pills for 10 or more years double their risk of cervical cancer (which kills 5,000 women yearly). If they took it for 5-9 years, the risk is increased 60%.

    3. Plan B is a drug that is 10 to 30 times the dosage of the drug [1] that, based on 9-year-old data that didn’t evaluate Plan B itself, is classified as “possibly carcinogenic to humans” [”Progestogen-only contraceptives (Vol. 72; 1999)”.

    All of the above are to blame, but once you spend real time on Teenwire I hope you’ll agree that it matches or is worse than cable tv, XXX sites and popups for raunchiness. It’s worse because of the cutesy, ain’t-we-cool way they target the youth. Society is what clamored for abortion to be made legal. Society is what clamored for Planned Parenthood to get $2 Billion in taxpayer dollars over the past 2 decades for its safesex ed and other promotions. All are to blame.

    Those who are up in arms about what abstinence programs did wrong are the pot calling the kettle black.

    There is a lot more I could cite, but as I said, you haven’t done all the reading and research you could do to be sure of your opinions being based on all the sound (read: unbiased) facts.

    You didn’t answer if you want your own very young daughter to be taught all these things without your consent or knowledge. I’d honestly like to know what you think after reading all the links provided.

    LAST ONE:

    As for the RP aficionado: s/he makes the same sterotyping mistake many pro-choice folks do: assumes I’m a “bible-thumper” even though I make no mention of or allusion to religion, faith, god or the bible. It’s almost amusing to me how people immediately jump on that tired old ad hominem attack. If s/he’d bothered to read a bit on me or what research we’ve done, s/he’d know how foolish it makes him/her look.

    If any abstinence programs taught religious views, that was and is wrong and should never have happened. But to teach smart sex (wait till marriage, monogamy, etc.) isn’t firstly a religious view. It’s a MORAL one, and always has been. Morals are not the same as religion, though the MSM and many liberals tell the world that they are one and the same. It would be wiser to not allow your worry about the first amendment to overrule your ability to care about the harm done by the free sex mentality started in the 60s to harm us and our children.

    If what RPFP says is actually indicative of RP, then I’m sure I won’t vote for him now.

    D.o.G. and RPFP are in good company: Andrew Sullivan, the supposed “conservative pundit” took the same stance you both have done. Talk about being concerned about “what is being taught children with taxpayer dollars in programs you support.”

    Now it’s $2 billion spent at least in part on “programs that, in various ways, encourage “safe sex’ [and] only $144.1 million in programs that encourage people, primarily teens, to abstain.”

    We ought not to have seen the rise in STDs nor the flat or increasing abortion rates, for all the $2 billion spent.
